The Three Degrees

The Three Degrees embark on a 24 date tour throughout Januray & February with sound production from CS Audio.
We are particularly pleased to be involved with the group again, as company founder Brian Hatt held the position of FOH engineer for the band for 10 years back in the 80’s. Then using a classic Soundcraft 800B mixer, this current tour is the first outing for our new Vi 1 digital desk, manned by David Preece.
Blake UK Tour

We continued to service classical crossover group Blake following their UK tour with two concerts at London Piccadilly St James’s Church and Gloucester Cathedral, the group have already extended dates into 2011.
Wedding reception at Portmeirion

A compact and discreet speaker system was supplied for a wedding reception at Portmeirion, providing speech and playback reinforcement throughout the hotel function rooms and Hecules Hall.
The annual North Wales Country Music Festival

We provided a concert system for the annual North Wales Country Music Festival. Held at Venue Cymru, Llandudno the system was engineered by Gethyn Evans and Arnaud Sabard.

More Opus CS850N cabinets

We recently doubled our Stock of Opus CS850N mid/high cabinets
We use the CS850N mid/high speakers as part of a 3-way active concert system incorporating SB215 sub-bass systems, HD series power amplifiers and the XS234 stereo system controller.
This forms a compact, high output and consistent point source array ideal for theatres & concert hall touring, the CS850N’s slim trapezoidal cabinet profile also allows for clear sightlines on smaller theatre stages when ground stacked.

Paul Hatt, Managing Director of CS Audio, is currently providing the touring package for classical music composer Karl Jenkins’s Stella Natalis tour and classical singer Hayley Westenra’s Winter Magic Christmas Tour.
Following a comprehensive demonstration of both products he purchased four KV2 EX26 dual 6” high intelligibility loudspeakers and two EX6 full range 6” loudspeakers from James Lawford, Technical Sales at LMC Audio Systems Birmingham.
Discussing his decision to purchase the system Paul explained, “We'd heard good reports about the performance of the KV2 products, in particular the quality of the nitride HF driver they use, and wanted to investigate further. We tried the EX26 on front-fill duties for some Curtis Stigers shows we did and were happily surprised to find it could keep up with the main P.A. when driven. We were astonished at the SPL such a small box could produce while retaining full range quality audio.”
Assured of the system’s competence, CS Audio were satisfied the system was suitable for the tour requirements due to its small size and slim-line cabinet design, “Due to the wide dispersion we achieved excellent coverage within the venues while remaining totally unobtrusive. The tour has visited some beautiful buildings and we wanted the sound system to be as 'invisible' as possible. The self-powered design meant that the entire tour package saved weight, space and time, being very quick & convenient to transport, without compromising the audio.”
Paul says “We've enjoyed a good working relationship with LMC for many years and James has been very helpful in recommending the EX products and loaning CS Audio some demo units to evaluate.”

Hayley Westenra – Winter Magic

We recently completed our fourth tour with Hayley and Her band, this time taking in Cathedrals and Abbeys and coinciding with the release of the ‘Winter Magic’ Christmas album.
Karl Jenkins – Stella Natalis

CS Audio provided sound for Karl Jenkin’s recent tour.
The acclaimed contemporary classical Welsh composer, who reached global stardom with such works as Adiemus, Requium, and The Armed Man, performed Cathedral dates across the UK in celebration of his new album, Stella Natalis. Karl was accompanied by Tenebrae, the renowned choir led by Nigel Short, and a specially created ensemble of musicians led by John Gibbons.
